the crop top; interpreted

earlier this week I had the honour of having a casual conversation with a 4 year old.
It went like this

Her: Yasmin, who bought you this?
Me: What? This? do you mean my clothes?
    I bought them myself.
Her: Then why did you buy your shirt so small?
     I can see your belly button.
